Our Work
Educational programs bringing Latvian textile traditions to life
Latvian Mittens Masterclass Series
Developed and delivered a 6-week intensive program teaching traditional mitten patterns from Latgale and Vidzeme regions. Worked with 24 participants across beginner and intermediate levels, covering historical pattern analysis, two-color stranding techniques, and regional customization methods.
Knitting from Scratch Foundation
Created a structured 8-week beginner curriculum that guides absolute newcomers through casting on, basic stitches, and completing their first scarf or dishcloth project. Over 40 students have graduated, with 85% reporting confidence to start independent projects afterward.
Natural Wool Selection & Care Workshops
Organized four regional workshops introducing fiber quality standards, sustainable sourcing, and proper care techniques for natural wool projects. Participants learned to identify fiber content, understand yarn weights, and maintain handmade pieces for decades of use.
Essential Sewing Techniques for Fiber Crafters
Launched a practical 5-week sewing fundamentals course focused on hand-sewing and basic machine skills for people transitioning from knitting. Covers seams, closures, fabric selection, and finishing touches that bridge fiber arts skills into garment construction and repair.
